July 6th, The Electric Vehicle branch of the Society of Automotive Engineers of China (SAE China) and the Electric car committee of the China Electrotechnical Society jointly sponsored the "17th Academic annual conference of the China Electric Vehicle Association" and the convention was held at Radisson Blu Hotel Beijing.

Meanwhile, the 2013 “China Low-Carbon Transport and Energy Vehicles” Exhibition was held at the “China Exhibition Centre”. Cars manufacturers Foton, Yutong, Dongfeng, OuLing, ZhongTong, KingLong, and other components and accessories manufacturers such as battery manufacturers participated in the exhibition. There were totally more than 200 companies present. This year much more models of electric vehicles were introduced than the previous year. The vehicle design and manufacturing standards have improved significantly.

At the meeting, many experts, professors and executives who were from enterprises and academic circles made wonderful speeches, demonstrating the latest scientific research and products. Delegates were very happy about the boom in the development of electric vehicles this year, also called for national effort to start developing the technology and inspection standards of low-speed electric vehicle in order to meet marketing demand for the development of electric vehicles
